My Name is William S Newton. My Father (James Newton) is the first person to record Otis Redding and his band in a garage in Macon,Ga he put in all the money and set up the location while Phil Walden was making deals with Atlantic Records behind his back(james Newton)and screwing him out of all the glory and proceeds. I represented my father at the Grand Ceremony of the Ga. Hall of Music inducting Otis Redding omong many others for the wonderful contributions they have given us, and I just want my father to be recognised for the contributions he made to the music world. If it were not for James E. Newton, Otis Redding would not be Otis Redding, the guy who sang "Sittin on the dock of the bay" and everything else you like from Otis. He would be just a guy that played bass in a band. I just thought Otis Reddings fans should know the truth. Thank you! William S. Newton
